Science Standards
- Science Process standards have been included.
- There are 8 of them and they have purpose to math process standard.
- You can find a copy of these in the “Resources and Documents” on the Science and Computer Science Standards page.
- Pink handout describes what these process standards might look like in classroom instruction.
- Let’s explore the shifts!Look at the PDF Correlation Guide for Science Standards
- What is similar?
- What is new?
- When standards have been reworded – what “shift” is represented in the new revision?
- Science Standards Resource Guides – These charts help us better understand what the standard may mean.
- Clarifying statements
- Vocabulary
- Crosscutting concepts
- Disciplinary Core Idea
Computer Science K-8
- K-2 standards and 3-5 standards
- DOE’s vision is that these standards are woven throughout all areas and all aspects of the day. Embed computer science into ELA, Math, Science, Social Studies, music, art PE
- Everyone is responsible for teaching them, but DOE suggests finding “point persons” within grade levels and buildings to be resources and support
