I just wanted to go over the basics and hopefully answer some of your questions as we are just getting started.......
I have created a spreadsheet to share with you on Google to document the points for each class. Please take a minute to make sure your class roster is correct and make any changes necessary. This is where you will document everything so we can make sure students are getting the correct prizes.
I don't want to interrupt your classes, so I will put the prizes in your mailboxes every day or two. Please let me know if you have any questions! Thanks! ~Heather
First Book- First Down- Bookmark and Second Book- Field Goal- Pencil Have students fill out short report for first book and second book. · Teachers can determine if this is done appropriately. · Give a Star, sticker or checkmark and return it back to the student. (Keep a few of the best for Mrs. Morlan to display. Put them in Mrs. Morlan’s mailbox.) · Mark each student’s progress on the shared document (NE Football Challenge). · Give a student a “Read to Win” coupon to claim their prizes from you. · Mrs. Morlan will monitor the spreadsheet several times daily and leave prizes in your mailbox for you to pass out each day. (Return any extra prizes to Mrs. Morlan at the end to reuse next year.) 3rd Book- Touch Down- Photo · Mrs. Morlan will monitor the spreadsheet and will arrange with the teachers to get a quick photo of each student that has a touchdown. (Each photo will be printed and displayed in the hallway. October 1st- End of the challenge (Have all books entered on the spreadsheet by 8am) On Friday, October 1st at 8:50am we will all be called down to the gym for a Football Reading Challenge Pep Session where our guests (High School Senior Cheerleaders and Senior Football players will congratulate the 2 winning classes for reading the most books in two weeks.)
